Touché 2008 is an event organized by the Touché Committee with venue sponsorship and support from Tampines Changkat CC. It will be held on 8 June from 1pm to 6pm at Tampines Changkat CC Auditorium. MP for Tampines GRC, Ms. Irene Ng will be the guest of honor for the event.

Touché aims to serve as a platform the exchange of ideas amongst young people with a focus on youth issues and trends. Apart from the sharing and exchange of ideas, Touché aims to provide an avenue for expression, discussion and evaluation of ideas and culture through active audience participation and presentations that harness the power of interactive media.

This term is often used in popular culture and general conversation during an argument or debate. If a speaker presents an argument and another party delivers an apt response, he or she may respond with “touché” as a way of acknowledgment of the high quality of rebuttal of the responder.

Through this event, we hope to show how youths and the community at large is able to weigh in their share of opinions for a greater purpose. Such sessions will allow us to build a community of socially active, networked youths for which future projects can be launched.
